Schedule Change

Looks like North Warren Friday baring something crazy. Saturday's game vs Hamilton West has been postponed due to a Mercer County Tournament game.   Depending on how we do Friday we will play either a HWS game if we win Friday or Academy of the New Church Monday at home.

Stats through 11 games

I have not yet figured a good way go get an excel spread sheet up here.. so I'll try this.....

Goals for 108 goals against 99 = 9 goals per game.  This way too many but we turn the ball over a lot, and spend more time on the defensive end then we should. Nice balance on scoring.

A win is a win in our 4 game week

It might not have been as pretty as I would have liked , but after a good hard rain, some 30 mph winds, and a lightning barrage to make Odin proud- we got our win against Princeton Day.

The game had some interesting aspects - Chris Fennell rounded up 21 ground balls and scored 2 goals (9g 3a) while freshman Sean Hogan  managed to pump in 2 goals.  Mike Rogers, (14g, 5a) steady all year had 2 -2 while Adam Kendzulak (23g,12a) led all scorers with 3-3.

Looking forward a win today vs Newton should get us another shot at North Warren, to be quickly followed by Hamilton West Saturday morning.

Again thanks to Donna Rogers for some great photo's which can be seen here.

Reviewed the scores and posted my votes for  the HWS Tourney - I think we are a 5,6,or 7 seed.  I put us at 5 but we will see......

DV 8 Pennington 7

With 2:34 seconds to go in the game midfielder Brandon Case scored his second goal breaking a 7-7 tie to give our Terriers the victory.  Coach T also gives a big thumbs up to sophomore Josh Jansen for his hard work, poise, and smart decision making he used to ice the game.

Thanks to Donna Rogers for the photos

3-1 - Thoughts after Blair

Well we are 3-1.  Against teams with a 5-16 record.  We have scored 68 goals and are leading the state in goals per game.  Yet we have given up 37 which is way too many. (120 teams are playing better defense then we are) We have only met our 6 goals or less benchmark once.  Thursday is WWPBS - a very talented squad (4-1) with a 91.8 power ranking.  Ours has dropped to 84.54.  which would favor WWPBS by 7. S what will we do about it?

If we play great D, make some saves, get our shots and shoot well I believe we can win, but we are going to have to put our best effort yet toward it. Upset wins by Del Val boys lacrosse squads are pretty rare, so maybe we are due.

2-1

So we are off and running.  I must say the team has me feeling pretty good - but a little nervous.  We have some real tests in the next 2 weeks and these are games that will make or break our season.  With focus, some commitment, good shooting and improved D these are games we can win.  But lets enjoy Saturday, watch some good lacrosse and hopefully get inspired to find it in our selves to keep on improving.
